PROJECT NARRATIVE

Baxter Nye Engineering & Surveying (BN) provided planning, site survey and design, permitting and construction administration services for the Shallow Pond Professional Center Project. The project involved the demolition of the 9,322 s.f. Rainbow Motel, removal of existing pavement and site design for an 17,000 s.f. office building on a 1.87 acre lot located within a Zone II groundwater recharge area and adjacent to Shallow Pond.

UNIQUE REQUIREMENTS

The project design called for strategically placing drainage features within a confined usable footprint. To satisfy stormwater mitigation requirements, bio-retention basins equipped with underground leaching basins were incorporated into the parking lot's landscape design to provide for maximum pretreatment and storage and serve as aesthetically Shallow Pond Redevelopment Centerpleasing landscaped features. BN also incorporated additional Low Impact Design (LID) elements into the design such as using pervious pavers for part of the parking lot.
